Day 1 arrival in Leticia, Night in the Marasha Reserve in Peru

• Arrival at the Alfredo Vásquez Cobo Airport in the city of Leticia.

• Meeting with your guide for the excursion, reception, departure in a custom-made Amazon tour vehicle, heading to the port of Leticia to take the boat that will take us to the Marasha nature reserve in Peru.

• During the journey on the imposing river, we appreciate the Amazon jungle and the riverside villages of indigenous people and settlers from Peru and Colombia.

• After this experience of sailing the great Amazon River (approximately 30 minutes).

• Arrival at the Marasha Nature Reserve (Peru).

• Hike along natural trails of flooded forest landscapes for 2:30 minutes to the Marasha Nature Reserve (Peru).

• During our tour we will do a survey of the flora and fauna species of the varzea forest on the banks of the Amazon River.

• Arrival at the Marasha Nature Reserve.

• Lunch at the Marasha Nature Reserve

• Recognition of the area.

• Reception, accommodation.

• Canoe or kayak trip on Lake Marasha

• Observation of exotic birds in the area such as the hoatzin.

• During the tour we can visit the “grandfather” a ceiba tree, an imposing tree over 400 years old.

• Dinner.

• Night canoe trip on Lake Marasha to observe alligators.

• Optional: night walk.

Day 2 Visit to the community of Puerto Alegría and the island of the monkeys.

• Optional: Wake up at 5:00 am. Canoe trip on Lake Marasha for bird watching.

• Breakfast at 7:30 am.

• Aquatic trail to the Amazon River, this is a spectacular landscape of water covered with lake vegetation.

• Departure by speedboat we navigate the Amazon River upstream to the Community of Puerto Alegría.

• Visit to the community, presentation of jungle and mountain dances.

• Departure to the island of the monkeys.

• During our tour we have a spectacular panoramic view of the imposing Amazon River, we appreciate the Amazon jungle and the riverside villages of indigenous Ticunas and Yaguas from (Peru and Colombia).

• Arrival at the Natural Reserve of the Island of the Monkeys, where we have an unforgettable encounter with flocks of Saimiri or friar monkeys, a species that dominates the island, we will learn about the biology of the friar monkeys.

• Departure to Amazon Açaí Lodge.

• Arrival at Amazon Açaí Lodge, welcome juice, reception and accommodation, accommodation in cabins.

• Lunch at Amazon Açaí Lodge

• Departure to Puerto Nariño (approximately 40 minutes).

• Visit to Puerto Nariño, the natural manger of Colombia, tour of the town.

• Visit to the Naipata viewpoint where we will have a spectacular panoramic view of Puerto Nariño and the Amazon River.

• Departure to the lakes of Tarapoto.

• Visit and swim in the lakes of Tarapoto.

• Observation of pink and gray Amazon dolphins.

• Return to Amazon Açaí Lodge

• Dinner.

• Night walk in the jungle, observation of nocturnal fauna, delight in the infinite sounds of the jungle at night.

 

Day 3 Tour of Leticia and Tabatinga (Brazil)

• Breakfast at 7:00 a.m.

• Departure by speedboat to Leticia (Sailing time approx. 01:30 minutes)

• Arrival in Leticia, City tour of Leticia and Tabatinga by Taxi (2 hours approx.)

• Visit the Leticia market and the artisan galleries, the border of Tabatinga Brazil and Leticia Colombia, the Tabatinga market, the Tabatinga commercial area, the Comara viewpoint.

• Transfer to the airport one hour before the flight.

 

End of our services

 

Note: The itinerary of the 3rd day can be extended until midday and an activity can be carried out from the Lodge, if your return flight is at dusk or if you have accommodation in Leticia to take a flight the next day, among the activities to be carried out are; kayaking on the Amazon River and the Guakary River, hiking in the terra firma jungle, artisanal fishing.
